You might ask yourself, "What's Diskeeper® got to do with an itch?" It's actually quite simple! How many times have you sat there, waiting forever to have your computer locate a file or even just boot-up? It's like an itch that drives you insane day after day and no way to scratch it!

The files on your hard drive that have become fragmented are what creates that itch. With each day that passes, the added taxing of your PC from these fragments not only impacts its performance but shortens the life of it as well. Now that's a serious itch! Diskeeper 2011 enables you to scratch that itch effectively and safely!

Diskeeper® 2011 Professional prevents the "majority" of fragmentation before it can happen. It's only logical that some fragmentation is still likely to occur yet don't be dismayed. That's when Instant Defrag™, (a new feature in Diskeeper® 2011), works in conjunction with IntelliWrite to quickly eliminate any fragments not prevented in the initial analysis and write. HyperFast and Optimization of Solid State Drives

Solid State drives using a Microsoft® operating system, until now have had no real SSD optimization solution. With net books this can be disastrous. The far more expensive price point with SSD's for an extended life and speed of a hard drive can quickly become a catch-22 situation. You have the speed and performance you are looking for, er..or did, have it, but without any reliable solution for SSD optimization, well. You suddenly begin to experience that itch again and can't scratch it.

The attempt at some levity here may be a bit lame yet the concern still remains ever present. This is where Diskeeper 2011 Professional really showed what it's made of in our evaluation with the following SSD Drives:

• (1) OCZ Vertex 2 180 GB SATA II SSD running Windows 7
• (2) Kingston SSDNow V+100 SSD's; Both running Windows Vista

Our testing has been over a period of 1.5 months. The results we had from our evaluation period with the SSD drives were as follows:

• Just as Diskeeper Corporation did with their own studies, HyperFast SSD optimization was enabled.
• With Windows 7 system, the performance gains averaged 58%.
• With the Vista operating systems, the performance increased and average of 73%

It is important to understand that these tests were run over a period 6 weeks, not months. It is highly probable based upon our current research that a substantially greater level of performance improvement would be realized.
